Kirsty Bella is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Hamilton New Zealand. She attained her Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology in 2008. Kirsty believes strongly in tailored approaches that meet the needs of individual clients and family/whanau.
Kirsty has broad assessment skills and experience including assessments for ACC sensitive claims, ACC mental injuries caused by physical injuries, forensic assessments, Oranga Tamariki Parenting assessments, the Department of Corrections and the High Court.
Kirsty is skilled in the provision of therapy for mental health issues, trauma, pain management and clinical conditions such as anxiety and depression. Within treatment Kirsty works with a holistic, collaborative approach drawing from models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-CBT, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy-DBT, Acceptance Commitment Therapy-ACT, Family Therapy and Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization-EMDR. Kirsty utilises cultural models where appropriate. She is empathic, culturally minded and respectful. Kirsty embraces opportunities to work with clientele of all ages, genders and ethnicities.
Kirsty is passionate about life and her personal interests involve whānau (children and grandchildren), yoga, art and time out. Her approach to working psychologically with people reflects her general life approach, in which healthy lifestyle balance and total well-being is paramount.
